Verna Alice Gray

Verna Alice Gray, age 80, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 7, 1943, in Scottsville, Kentucky to the late Joseph “JY” Yancy Bandy and the late Dorothy Alice Pearson.

In January 1969, she met Roy Lee Gray, the man who would become her life partner. Three months later they would marry and begin life together. They had two daughters, Alicia Daugherty and Rebecca Jones both of Owensboro, KY.

Besides their two daughters, she is survived by four stepchildren, Larry Gray, David Gray, Sandy Sutphin and Sue Keck all from Tazewell, TN; two grandchildren, Aletheia Kluesner (Dan), Christopher Stark (Brittany) and many great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Judy Bandy of Arizona and Janie Blunk of Newburg, IN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Allen Daugherty.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Kingdom Hall in Beaver Dam.
