Thomas Kirk

Thomas Ward Kirk, 93, of Buford, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, under the care of Signature Health of Hartford. He was born September 5, 1925 in Ohio County to the late Alva and Martine Ward Kirk. Aside from his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife, Billie Kirk; brothers Roy Kirk and Leo Kirk, and a sister, Alice Jean Cannon. Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Kirk also served the Hartford Christian Church, as a member and Sunday School teacher for 50 years. Thomas was a Kentucky Colonel and retired from Texas Gas Pipelines. He loved to hunt, enjoyed his dogs and horses, as well as driving his bulldozer. Thomas is survived by 2 sons, Randy ( Mary Ann ) Kirk of Corydon, IN and Jay Kirk of Beauford, KY; brother Kenneth Kirk of Hartford; sister Bonnie DiGiulio of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Funeral Celebration will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Hartford Christian Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will take place Saturday April 6, 2019 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Hartford Christian Church.
