Redis L. "Chuck" Sanders

Redis L. “Chuck” Sanders, 93 of Hartford passed away quietly on September 10, 2023 at the Ohio County Hospital. He was born July 16, 1930 in Fayettville, TN to the late Melvin Clayton and Clara Evelyn Fanning Sanders.

He served his country in the US Army during the last part of WWII. He eventually made his home in Indiana where he married Geneva Belle Shipley and became father to Patricia and Robert Wayne Martin.

Redis was a maintenance worker in several different factories.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step son, Robert Wayne Martin; two brothers, Ray Sanders and Jim Sanders; and two sisters, Bonnie Shetters and Ruby Arrick.

He is survived by his step daughter, Patricia Rearden of Hartford; step daughter-in-law, Susan Maxwell, Gilbertsville, KY; 3 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; 3 step great great grandchildren; 2 step great great great grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Weaver, Ardmore, AL, JoAnn Bagwell, Decatur, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Patterson Cemetery on Rt 1737 Silver Beach Road.
