Noble King

September 20, 1940 — April 9, 2019

Noble "Darrell" King, 78 of Owensboro, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 20, 1940 in Daviess County to the late Noble N. King and Helen Thomason King. Darrell spent his younger years in Pleasant Ridge, KY and eventually moved to Delaware where he grew up. He returned to Kentucky where he graduated high school and was a member of the first class to graduate from Daviess County High School in Owensboro, KY. After graduating Darrell proudly served in the United States Navy. He went on to work and retire as a machinist from Black and Decker and later in life went to work for Walmart in Owensboro. He was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Darrell loved watching UK basketball, playing cards, and above all he loved Jesus. Aside from his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Margaret V. King; and his son, Richard Scott King. Darrell is survived by his significant other Angela Wilson; two sisters Laural (David) May of Millsboro, DE, Dorothy Bersque of Gary, IN; and one brother John King of Beaver Dam, KY. Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home, with Brother Randy Stallings officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with the Ohio County Honor Guard to conduct Military Honors. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Ridgewood Baptist Church, 800 Carter Rd, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
