Gary W. Burden

Gary W. Burden, 61, of Cromwell, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 30, 2025. Born on June 29, 1963, he was the beloved son of the late Arthur Ray Burden and Gladys J. Burden. Gary’s warmth and kindness radiated in all areas of his life, most notably through his enduring love for his wife, Pauline Riley, whom he married on February 16, 1984. Their partnership was built on friendship, laughter, and a shared love for life’s simple joys. 

Gary enjoyed listening to classic country and a bit of rock and roll and watching legends such as Jimmie Hendrix and others from that time. He made cabinets for his home and enjoyed making other projects. He took pride in nurturing his garden and learning about a variety of topics. Gary loved country drives with Pauline, where the open road and scenic views allowed them to create lasting memories together. A devoted friend, Gary was always there for those who needed a helping hand or a comforting word; his compassion knew no bounds. He dedicated over 22 years to the Boilermakers Local #374, where he was respected as a hard worker and a loyal colleague. 

In addition to his beloved wife of 41 years, Gary is survived by his devoted mother, Gladys; two brothers, Jackie R. Burden and Paul L. Burden (Jeri); one nephew, Jonathon Burden (Molly); and two nieces, Holly McKeown and Cynthia Burden, along with many cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, a cherished niece, Magen Burden, and a sister-in-law, Tammy Burden. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hartford Funeral Home, where family and friends can gather to celebrate Gary’s life and the legacy of love he leaves behind. Interment will follow at Calhoun Cemetery. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM that same day, providing everyone with an opportunity to share heartfelt memories and condolences.
