Catherine Monroe

Catherine "Shirley" Fassnacht Monroe, 84, of Hartford passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at Signature Healthcare of Hartford Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Hartford, KY. She was born on January 31, 1935 in Fowler, IN to the late William Fassnacht and Cora May Yarno Fassnacht. Mrs. Monroe was a homemaker and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Along with her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, William L. "Bill" Monroe who passed in August of 1993; her brothers, Charles, Bernard, Edward, and Robert; and her step-grandchildren, Jeremy Russell, and Nicky Bratcher. Catherine is survived by her children, Connie (Bill) Jordan, Mike (Renie) Monroe, Shelley (Tim) Hunt, and Robert (Darlene) Monroe; 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Sarah, Aaron, Deana, Sheyann, Julie, and Kayla; 19 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Fr. Julio Barrera officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home and again 9:00 am until 10:30 am Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. Miller Schapmire Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Monroe.
